Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.18%, while the ADX General index declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK), which rose 1.92% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 1.56% or 0.060 points to end at 3.900 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 0.48% or 0.010 points to 2.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which fell 5.14% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.67 at the close. Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) declined 4.32% or 0.037 points to end at 0.820 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was down 4.17% or 0.040 points to 0.920.
The top performers on the ADX General were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which rose 14.55% to 1.260, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 2.44% to settle at 4.200 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 1.97% to close at 4.65.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 6.06% to 0.6200 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 5.71% to settle at 0.990 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which was down 3.37% to 1.720 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 6 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) fell to all time lows; falling 5.14% or 0.04 to 0.67. Shares in Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.06% or 0.0400 to 0.6200.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.48% or 0.23 to $47.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $50.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 10.03 to trade at $1280.37 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.26% to 4.3153.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.63.
