Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Aerospace & Defense and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 5.27% or 61.00 points to trade at 1218.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) added 2.73% or 6.400 points to end at 241.000 and Capita PLC (LON:CPI) was up 2.63% or 13.50 points to 527.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR), which fell 3.99% or 29.50 points to trade at 710.50 at the close. Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB) declined 2.11% or 149.00 points to end at 6926.00 and CRH PLC (LON:CRH) was down 1.87% or 52.00 points to 2733.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1008 to 922 and 423 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tui AG (LON:TUIT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.27% or 61.00 to 1218.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.09% or 1.05 to $1224.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $53.14 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.32 to trade at $55.91 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.55% to 1.2456, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.35.
