Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Food Producers and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Dixons Carphone PLC (LON:DC), which rose 2.62% or 7.90 points to trade at 309.60 at the close. Meanwhile, 3I Group PLC (LON:III) added 1.80% or 13.00 points to end at 734.00 and J Sainsbury PLC (LON:SBRY) was up 1.71% or 4.60 points to 274.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS), which fell 1.64% or 4.00 points to trade at 239.90 at the close. Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:HIK) declined 1.57% or 34.00 points to end at 2134.00 and Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) was down 1.06% or 2.30 points to 214.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1025 to 887 and 489 ended unchanged.
Shares in 3I Group PLC (LON:III) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.80% or 13.00 to 734.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.24% or 2.95 to $1233.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.75 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.35% to 1.2353, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8696.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.16.
