Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Non-Metal Mineral Products and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK), which rose 2.34% or 1.70 points to trade at 74.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 1.87% or 0.50 points to end at 27.25 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) was up 1.87% or 0.020 points to 1.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 19.10% or 1.53 points to trade at 6.48 at the close. Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) declined 6.51% or 0.110 points to end at 1.580 and Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) was down 5.17% or 0.030 points to 0.550.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 319 to 80 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.39% or 4.30 to $1090.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.93% or 1.38 to hit $45.74 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.96% or 2.06 to trade at $50.15 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.26% to 2.7782, while EUR/TRY rose 0.06% to 3.0463.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 97.50.
