Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.55% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Petkim (IS:PETKM) added 2.94% or 0.100 points to end at 3.500 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 2.07% or 0.29 points to 14.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which fell 3.89% or 1.32 points to trade at 32.62 at the close. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 3.73% or 0.060 points to end at 1.550 and Akbank (IS:AKBNK) was down 3.23% or 0.26 points to 7.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 228 to 112 and 69 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 1.02% or 12.70 to $1232.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.01% or 1.12 to hit $36.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.83% or 1.12 to trade at $38.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.23% to 2.9056, while EUR/TRY rose 1.27% to 3.2276.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.67.
