Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS), which rose 4.15% or 0.38 points to trade at 9.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 3.24% or 8.20 points to end at 261.30 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 3.10% or 0.140 points to 4.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which fell 5.50% or 0.960 points to trade at 16.490 at the close. Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) declined 5.03% or 0.26 points to end at 4.91 and Nurol Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:NUGYO) was down 4.59% or 0.210 points to 4.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 266 to 96 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) rose to all time highs; up 3.10% or 0.140 to 4.660.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.41% or 5.05 to $1223.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.35% or 0.64 to hit $47.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.71 to trade at $50.93 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.21% to 3.5793, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.8945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 99.47.
