Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Electricity and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which rose 5.33% or 12.00 points to trade at 237.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) added 5.18% or 0.57 points to end at 11.58 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 4.64% or 0.290 points to 6.540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 10.00% or 0.080 points to end at 0.720 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was down 8.30% or 0.800 points to 8.840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 181 to 167 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 12.50% or 0.100 to 0.700. Shares in Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.00% or 0.080 to 0.720.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.45 to $1332.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.70% or 0.32 to hit $45.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.15 to trade at $46.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.58% to 3.0257, while EUR/TRY rose 1.03% to 3.3338.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.09.
