Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Isuzu (IS:ASUZU), which rose 10.67% or 2.00 points to trade at 20.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) added 5.73% or 0.18 points to end at 3.32 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 4.27% or 0.180 points to 4.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 3.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) declined 3.08% or 2.40 points to end at 75.50 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was down 2.94% or 0.020 points to 0.660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 224 to 180 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.31% or 3.70 to $1192.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.38% or 0.83 to hit $61.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.66 to trade at $65.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 2.6824, while EUR/TRY rose 1.82% to 2.9861.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.42% at 96.14.
