Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Transport and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.91% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which rose 7.11% or 1.06 points to trade at 15.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 6.22% or 1.48 points to end at 25.26 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was up 6.06% or 1.20 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRSAN), which fell 5.86% or 0.62 points to trade at 9.96 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL) declined 5.32% or 0.500 points to end at 8.900 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) was down 3.27% or 0.110 points to 3.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 189 to 159 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.11% or 1.06 to 15.96.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.49% or 5.92 to $1222.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.49% or 1.60 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.18% or 1.55 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.13% to 3.5830, while EUR/TRY fell 1.15% to 3.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.45.
