Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Wood, Paper & Printing and Tourism sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 4.81% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 4.27% or 1.68 points to end at 41.02 and Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) was up 3.94% or 0.050 points to 1.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 7.95% or 1.66 points to trade at 19.22 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 4.95% or 0.110 points to end at 2.110 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 3.76% or 0.080 points to 2.050.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 233 to 102 and 73 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.48% or 5.90 to $1242.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.79% or 0.41 to hit $52.58 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.57 to trade at $55.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.86% to 3.7132, while EUR/TRY fell 0.67% to 3.9752.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.11.
