Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Sports and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which rose 11.89% or 3.48 points to trade at 32.76 at the close. Meanwhile, ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 4.50% or 0.180 points to end at 4.180 and Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) was up 3.51% or 0.110 points to 3.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which fell 1.66% or 2.20 points to trade at 130.70 at the close. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) declined 1.65% or 0.050 points to end at 2.980 and GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) was down 1.52% or 0.010 points to 0.650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 127 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.50% or 0.180 to 4.180.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.41% or 5.03 to $1232.73 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.82% or 1.35 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.54% or 1.29 to trade at $52.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.74% to 3.5474, while EUR/TRY fell 0.25% to 3.8963.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 98.75.
