Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 3.22% or 0.59 points to trade at 18.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Petkim (IS:PETKM) added 3.00% or 0.140 points to end at 4.800 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was up 2.68% or 0.030 points to 1.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 3.94% or 0.77 points to trade at 18.79 at the close. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) declined 3.65% or 1.66 points to end at 43.86 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was down 3.65% or 0.070 points to 1.850.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 176 to 157 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.22% or 0.59 to 18.90. Shares in Petkim (IS:PETKM) rose to all time highs; rising 3.00% or 0.140 to 4.800.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.20% or 2.45 to $1200.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.72% or 0.82 to hit $48.54 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.53% or 0.78 to trade at $51.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.49% to 3.7233, while EUR/TRY fell 0.26% to 3.9585.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.38.
