Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng (TW:1538), which rose 9.98% or 0.66 points to trade at 7.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Tri Ocean Text (TW:1472) added 8.90% or 1.25 points to end at 15.30 and Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) was up 8.45% or 2.50 points to 32.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 8.25% or 0.39 points to trade at 4.34 at the close. Shin Tai Ind (TW:1235) declined 8.20% or 2.50 points to end at 28.00 and Chang Ho (TW:1468) was down 7.79% or 0.95 points to 11.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 557 to 201 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jenn Feng (TW:1538) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.98% or 0.66 to 7.27. Shares in Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) rose to 3-years highs; up 8.45% or 2.50 to 32.10.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.74% or 0.33 to $44.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.35 to trade at $1338.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.35% to 31.465, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2128.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.43.
