Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Rubber, Auto and Cement sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hsin Kao Gas (TW:9931), which rose 6.66% or 2.10 points to trade at 33.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Kinsus (TW:3189) added 6.41% or 4.10 points to end at 68.10 and Grand Ocean (TW:5907) was up 5.63% or 1.20 points to 22.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Everlight (TW:2393), which fell 3.03% or 1.40 points to trade at 44.85 at the close. Wowprime (TW:2727) declined 3.00% or 3.50 points to end at 113.00 and Ene (TW:6243) was down 2.90% or 0.45 points to 15.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 476 to 246 and 128 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.51% or 0.25 to $48.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1254.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.31% to 32.696, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1997.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.28.
