Sweden stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Stockholm 30 up 1.64%

Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.64% to hit a new 6-months high.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 4.79% or 1.12 points to trade at 24.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 4.55% or 8.50 points to end at 195.30 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) was up 3.33% or 1.57 points to 48.78 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken A (ST:SEBa), which rose 0.29% or 0.25 points to trade at 86.15 at the close. Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) added 0.37% or 0.36 points to end at 98.91 and Swedbank AB ser A (ST:SWEDa) was up 0.80% or 1.6 points to 201.2.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 411 to 189 and 60 ended unchanged.

Shares in Boliden AB (ST:BOL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.55% or 8.50 to 195.30. Shares in Swedbank AB ser A (ST:SWEDa) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.80% or 1.6 to 201.2.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.49% or 1.13 to $46.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.90% or 0.89 to hit $47.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.21% or 16.05 to trade at $1347.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/SEK was up 0.07% to 9.5787, while USD/SEK fell 0.29% to 8.5291.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.15.
