Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Healthcare and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which rose 24.87% or 14.00 points to trade at 70.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) added 19.62% or 14.60 points to end at 89.00 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) was up 19.01% or 11.90 points to 74.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 33.33% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.2000 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was down 9.54% or 3.50 points to 33.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 96 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) rose to all time highs; gaining 24.87% or 14.00 to 70.30. Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; falling 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 19.62% or 14.60 to 89.00. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 33.33% or 0.1000 to 0.2000.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.61% or 0.79 to $48.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.65% or 0.86 to hit $51.35 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 4.57 to trade at $1263.27 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.81% to 199.230, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 152.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.41.
