Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) added 12.80% or 2.10 points to end at 18.50 and Odel PLC (CM:ODEL) was up 10.66% or 2.10 points to 21.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 24.27% or 15.70 points to trade at 49.00 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 20.00% or 250.00 points to end at 1000.00 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 19.74% or 13.80 points to 56.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 78 to 69 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 5-year lows; losing 24.27% or 15.70 to 49.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.11% or 0.58 to $52.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.23% or 0.68 to hit $55.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.15 to trade at $1243.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 189.465, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 150.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.20.
