Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Trading and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were C T Holdings PLC (CM:CTHR), which rose 9.68% or 15.00 points to trade at 170.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) added 8.53% or 96.00 points to end at 1221.00 and Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) was up 7.86% or 1.10 points to 15.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which fell 18.54% or 13.00 points to trade at 57.10 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 16.89% or 246.00 points to end at 1210.10 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was down 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 84 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in C T Holdings PLC (CM:CTHR) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.68% or 15.00 to 170.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.56% or 0.28 to $49.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.97% or 0.51 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.37 to trade at $1263.73 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.02% to 196.300, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 152.650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.38.
