Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.54%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 0.06% or 0.010 points to trade at 17.785 at the close. Meanwhile, FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.03% or 0.002 points to end at 7.606 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 0.14% or 0.015 points to 10.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.08% or 0.116 points to trade at 3.645 at the close. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 2.94% or 0.059 points to end at 1.947 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was down 2.69% or 0.705 points to 25.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 153 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.30 to $1221.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.83% or 0.33 to hit $39.46 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.14 to trade at $40.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.7885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.13.
