Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.71% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 1.15% or 0.046 points to trade at 4.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 0.69% or 0.175 points to end at 25.550 and Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) was up 0.52% or 0.085 points to 16.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 2.98% or 0.097 points to trade at 3.154 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 2.77% or 0.515 points to end at 18.050 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was down 2.42% or 0.285 points to 11.480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 61 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.54% or 19.70 to $1256.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.54% or 0.24 to hit $44.49 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.12 to trade at $46.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1145, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 97.48.
