Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Abertis Infr (MC:ABE), which rose 6.61% or 1.010 points to trade at 16.295 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popular (MC:POP) added 6.22% or 0.038 points to end at 0.649 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 0.63% or 0.010 points to 1.596 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 5.96% or 0.424 points to trade at 6.696 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.91% or 0.160 points to end at 5.339 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was down 2.81% or 0.365 points to 12.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 132 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) rose to all time highs; up 6.61% or 1.010 to 16.295.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1291.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.59% or 0.31 to hit $52.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.52 to trade at $54.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.0701, while EUR/GBP fell 1.02% to 0.8383.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 99.69.
