Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which rose 1.56% or 0.310 points to trade at 20.180 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 1.50% or 0.295 points to end at 19.930 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 1.33% or 0.160 points to 12.215 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which fell 4.04% or 2.120 points to trade at 50.310 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 3.43% or 1.220 points to end at 34.315 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 2.05% or 0.280 points to 13.380.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 100 to 76 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ferrovial (MC:FER) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.56% or 0.310 to 20.180.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.75% or 9.39 to $1265.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.29% or 0.63 to hit $49.53 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.47 to trade at $51.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8733.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 97.40.
