Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 2.26% or 0.055 points to trade at 2.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankia (MC:BKIA) added 2.24% or 0.016 points to end at 0.730 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 1.90% or 0.30 points to 16.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which fell 4.04% or 0.380 points to trade at 9.015 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 2.11% or 0.117 points to end at 5.438 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was down 1.32% or 0.285 points to 21.315.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 106 to 87 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.37% or 4.95 to $1321.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.59% or 0.28 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.44% or 0.22 to trade at $50.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1239, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8649.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.33.
