Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which rose 2.02% or 0.965 points to trade at 48.710 at the close. Meanwhile, Mapfre (MC:MAP) added 1.72% or 0.037 points to end at 2.186 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 1.04% or 0.050 points to 4.835 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which fell 1.86% or 0.775 points to trade at 40.860 at the close. ACS Const. (MC:ACS) declined 1.40% or 0.345 points to end at 24.250 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was down 1.24% or 0.240 points to 19.165.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 114 to 73 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.85 to $1364.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.13% or 1.63 to hit $41.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.92% or 1.64 to trade at $43.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 95.49.
