Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.12% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 2.43% or 0.800 points to trade at 33.680 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 2.40% or 0.785 points to end at 33.425 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was up 1.92% or 0.350 points to 18.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 0.75% or 0.059 points to trade at 7.795 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 0.70% or 0.085 points to end at 12.025 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was down 0.20% or 0.150 points to 75.280.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 91 to 81 and 14 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.48% or 5.95 to $1254.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.09% or 0.56 to hit $51.71 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.55 to trade at $54.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0651, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8534.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 100.56.
