Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.57% or 0.565 points to trade at 22.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) added 2.29% or 3.85 points to end at 171.95 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 2.00% or 0.685 points to 35.020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 1.96% or 0.103 points to trade at 5.165 at the close. Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) declined 0.95% or 0.042 points to end at 4.391 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was down 0.51% or 0.029 points to 5.655.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 122 to 50 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.13 to $1240.77 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.03% or 0.48 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.54 to trade at $49.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1519, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.57.
