Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 4.12% or 0.226 points to trade at 5.716 at the close. Meanwhile, Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) added 2.22% or 0.153 points to end at 7.041 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 1.65% or 0.060 points to 3.705 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which fell 1.51% or 0.025 points to trade at 1.633 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 1.38% or 0.037 points to end at 2.640 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was down 1.37% or 0.012 points to 0.866.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 101 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.62% or 19.80 to $1241.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.39% or 0.94 to hit $38.45 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.01% or 0.82 to trade at $40.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1260, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7838.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 95.42.
