Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 1.72% or 0.112 points to trade at 6.607 at the close. Meanwhile, BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.32% or 0.073 points to end at 5.611 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 1.15% or 0.106 points to 9.302 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which fell 1.54% or 0.275 points to trade at 17.545 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.12% or 0.205 points to end at 18.020 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) was down 1.05% or 0.064 points to 6.048.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 92 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.26% or 3.25 to $1277.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.96% or 0.46 to hit $48.18 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.30 to trade at $49.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1333, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.7827.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.40.
