Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 6.98% or 0.710 points to trade at 10.885 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) added 2.38% or 0.094 points to end at 4.042 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 2.18% or 0.560 points to 26.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 0.98% or 0.027 points to trade at 2.715 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 0.56% or 0.340 points to end at 60.730 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was down 0.41% or 0.70 points to 169.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 124 to 57 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.90% or 11.40 to $1254.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.16% or 0.65 to hit $56.61 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 0.85 to trade at $62.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.63.
