Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rosneft (MCX:ROSN), which rose 2.71% or 9.25 points to trade at 351.00 at the close. Meanwhile, FSK EES (MCX:FEES) added 2.45% or 0.0024 points to end at 0.1004 and Gazprom (MCX:GAZP) was up 2.26% or 3.72 points to 168.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC), which fell 5.10% or 2.700 points to trade at 50.200 at the close. Surgut (MCX:SNGS) declined 4.80% or 1.720 points to end at 34.100 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 4.68% or 0.0306 points to 0.6234.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 147 to 79 and 25 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.79% to 35.610.
Gold for June delivery was up 2.30% or 29.15 to $1295.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.41% or 0.19 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.49 to trade at $47.28 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.07% to 64.6584, while EUR/RUB rose 0.45% to 73.991.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 93.14.
