Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 4.02% or 0.0066 points to trade at 0.1720 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 2.94% or 0.0300 points to end at 1.0500 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was up 2.36% or 0.0850 points to 3.6850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 4.95% or 34.50 points to trade at 662.50 at the close. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) declined 2.67% or 38.0 points to end at 1385.0 and Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) was down 2.45% or 30.00 points to 1195.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 113 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.94% or 0.0300 to 1.0500. Shares in ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.67% or 38.0 to 1385.0. Shares in Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.36% or 0.0850 to 3.6850.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 3.04% to 30.840 a new 3-months high.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.08% or 0.95 to $1225.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.26% or 0.98 to hit $42.43 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 0.96 to trade at $43.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.85% to 66.3194, while EUR/RUB fell 0.33% to 71.277.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 99.94.
