Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 2.48% or 0.0042 points to trade at 0.1723 at the close. Meanwhile, ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) added 2.42% or 46.0 points to end at 1947.0 and Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) was up 2.41% or 73.0 points to 3097.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which fell 3.08% or 28.0 points to trade at 880.0 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 2.21% or 21.00 points to end at 927.50 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was down 2.04% or 0.0590 points to 2.8305.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 112 to 111 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES (MCX:FEES) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.48% or 0.0042 to 0.1723.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.53% to 28.090.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.55 to $1326.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.78% or 0.85 to hit $46.79 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.69% or 0.85 to trade at $49.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.29% to 65.0430, while EUR/RUB rose 0.38% to 72.700.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 95.67.
