Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.54% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.70% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.6090 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.21% or 0.087 points to end at 7.299 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.63% or 0.0510 points to 8.1140 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 10.11% or 0.0027 points to trade at 0.0240 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 4.61% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.1450 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 3.06% or 0.3350 points to 10.6250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 40 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; losing 10.11% or 0.0027 to 0.0240. Shares in Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) rose to all time highs; up 1.21% or 0.087 to 7.299.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.48% or 0.24 to $49.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.65% or 0.32 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.42% or 29.35 to trade at $1241.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.66% to 1.1338, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.7810.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.54% at 94.09.
