Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 0.36% or 0.0100 points to trade at 2.7900 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.30% or 0.0090 points to end at 2.9900 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.10% or 0.0010 points to 1.0170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 6.47% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1300 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 6.03% or 0.0028 points to end at 0.0436 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 2.34% or 0.1530 points to 6.3970.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 19 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) fell to all time lows; down 6.47% or 0.0090 to 0.1300.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.33% or 0.92 to $38.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.45% or 0.91 to hit $36.27 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.16% or 14.50 to trade at $1230.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1113, while EUR/GBP rose 1.12% to 0.7853.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.64.
