Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 1.12% or 0.0350 points to trade at 3.1660 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 0.25% or 0.020 points to end at 7.940 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.13% or 0.0020 points to 1.5900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 3.58% or 0.0405 points to trade at 1.0900 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 3.39% or 0.015 points to end at 0.428 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 2.77% or 0.1660 points to 5.8240.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 6 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; down 3.58% or 0.0405 to 1.0900. Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; losing 3.39% or 0.015 to 0.428.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.65% or 0.92 to $54.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.93% or 1.02 to hit $51.96 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.50% or 5.75 to trade at $1164.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.0660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8397.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 100.84.
