Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 2.14% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.6200 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 1.60% or 0.1060 points to end at 6.7120 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) was up 0.39% or 0.0370 points to 9.4170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Portucel (LISBON:PTI), which fell 3.37% or 0.1285 points to trade at 3.6875 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 3.15% or 0.4275 points to end at 13.1425 and Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) was down 3.13% or 0.0155 points to 0.4805.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 55 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) fell to all time lows; falling 3.13% or 0.0155 to 0.4805.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 2.80% or 1.78 to $62.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.70% or 1.61 to hit $58.03 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.80% or 9.50 to trade at $1175.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1289, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.7340.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.25.
