Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.89% to hit a new 3-years low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.90% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.5900 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.64% or 0.1600 points to end at 9.9100 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.01% or 0.0160 points to 1.6000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 6.28% or 0.0012 points to trade at 0.0179 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 3.34% or 0.0260 points to end at 0.7530 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 2.82% or 0.0830 points to 2.8570.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 36 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; falling 6.28% or 0.0012 to 0.0179. Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.34% or 0.0260 to 0.7530. Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.82% or 0.0830 to 2.8570.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.65% or 1.30 to $47.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.81% or 1.35 to hit $46.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.32% or 17.05 to trade at $1305.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1227, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7909.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.80.
