Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 1.22% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.414 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 0.57% or 0.0130 points to end at 2.2960 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.34% or 0.0006 points to 0.1785 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which fell 1.80% or 0.0680 points to trade at 3.7090 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.77% or 0.270 points to end at 14.950 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 1.46% or 0.0400 points to 2.7000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.44 to $54.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1291.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.0702, while EUR/GBP fell 0.99% to 0.8385.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 99.68.
