Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.02% or 0.0650 points to trade at 1.6830 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 1.17% or 0.0130 points to end at 1.1260 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.52% or 0.0650 points to 12.6750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 7.33% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.1770 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 4.74% or 0.0320 points to end at 0.6430 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 2.53% or 0.0005 points to 0.0193.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae (LS:YSO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.74% or 0.0320 to 0.6430. Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.52% or 0.0650 to 12.6750.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.15 to $47.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.26% or 0.12 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1331.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1064, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.8404.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 96.61.
