Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.67% or 0.0430 points to trade at 1.6550 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.42% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.2150 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 0.78% or 0.1050 points to 13.6000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.45% or 0.0158 points to trade at 1.0730 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.92% or 0.0250 points to end at 2.7040 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was down 0.46% or 0.040 points to 8.650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; rising 0.78% or 0.1050 to 13.6000.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 2.36% or 1.34 to $55.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.53% or 1.36 to hit $52.36 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.98% or 11.25 to trade at $1162.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.0426, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8501.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 103.05.
