Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which rose 2.53% or 0.300 points to trade at 12.150 at the close. Meanwhile, REN (LS:RENE) added 0.93% or 0.0220 points to end at 2.3960 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.33% or 0.0100 points to 3.0060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 3.80% or 0.1150 points to trade at 2.9100 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.37% or 0.3100 points to end at 12.7600 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 1.75% or 0.0160 points to 0.8960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.37% or 0.3100 to 12.7600.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.14% or 0.11 to $77.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.98% or 0.71 to hit $73.47 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.50 to trade at $1251.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1579, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.91.
