Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.40% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.39% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.4290 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) added 1.82% or 0.0180 points to end at 1.0060 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.62% or 0.0480 points to 3.0120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 2.62% or 0.0920 points to trade at 3.4140 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.49% or 0.0063 points to end at 0.2464 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 2.26% or 0.3700 points to 16.0050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to all time lows; falling 2.62% or 0.0920 to 3.4140.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.53% or 0.34 to $64.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.10 to trade at $1285.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1592, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.77.
