Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.20% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.2480 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.71% or 0.1510 points to end at 4.2200 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 3.58% or 0.1070 points to 3.0960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 0.62% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.9640 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 0.37% or 0.0008 points to end at 0.2143 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 0.49% or 0.002 points to 0.410.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.09% or 1.10 to $53.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.09% or 1.03 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1251.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.1192, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8596.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 97.15.
