Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.72% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0189 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 1.97% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.6730 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.95% or 0.2800 points to 14.6300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 3.05% or 0.2000 points to trade at 6.3500 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 2.15% or 0.177 points to end at 8.040 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 1.68% or 0.008 points to 0.467.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 37 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.05% or 0.2000 to 6.3500. Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; losing 1.68% or 0.008 to 0.467.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 3.19% or 1.45 to $46.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.08% or 1.33 to hit $44.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.69% or 9.05 to trade at $1326.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1160, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8387.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.84.
