Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.52% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.51% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.3050 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.59% or 0.395 points to end at 11.395 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 1.74% or 0.0480 points to 2.8060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which fell 2.81% or 0.410 points to trade at 14.200 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.84% or 0.0590 points to end at 6.9910 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 0.72% or 0.0070 points to 0.9720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.59% or 0.395 to 11.395.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.12% or 0.06 to $50.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.58% or 7.31 to trade at $1249.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.0916, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8458.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 98.95.
