Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.37% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 1.77% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2300 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.55% or 0.2600 points to end at 17.0850 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.40% or 0.0450 points to 3.2550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 2.85% or 0.340 points to trade at 11.605 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 2.14% or 0.009 points to end at 0.411 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.39% or 0.0610 points to 4.3290.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 19 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.55% or 0.2600 to 17.0850. Shares in EDP (LS:EDP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.40% or 0.0450 to 3.2550.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.03% or 0.50 to $48.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.21% or 0.55 to hit $46.07 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1229.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0989, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 98.54.
