Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.30% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 3.73% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.7230 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.76% or 0.1630 points to end at 6.0760 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.69% or 0.0300 points to 1.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 1.01% or 0.1300 points to trade at 12.6950 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 0.80% or 0.1300 points to end at 16.1200 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was down 0.40% or 0.0010 points to 0.2510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.73% or 0.0260 to 0.7230.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.99% or 1.03 to $50.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.06% or 1.05 to hit $49.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.45 to trade at $1263.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.0878, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 98.78.
