Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.32% or 0.0410 points to trade at 1.8100 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) added 0.84% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.7180 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.79% or 0.0460 points to 5.8900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.63% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2420 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.62% or 0.0191 points to end at 1.1600 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was down 1.15% or 0.094 points to 8.107.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 24 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.20% or 0.09 to $46.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.25 to trade at $1278.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8903.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.89.
