Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.17% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.28% or 0.1150 points to trade at 2.2950 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 3.17% or 0.1650 points to end at 5.3690 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 1.97% or 0.0530 points to 2.7400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 6.34% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2660 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 4.11% or 0.600 points to end at 14.000 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 2.16% or 0.009 points to 0.408.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.19% or 0.10 to $52.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.26 to trade at $1264.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0873, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8478.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 99.12.
