Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.07% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1480 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.58% or 0.0500 points to end at 3.2160 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.37% or 0.1600 points to 11.8200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 7.92% or 0.0019 points to trade at 0.0221 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.81% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.5980 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 1.07% or 0.006 points to 0.554.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; losing 7.92% or 0.0019 to 0.0221. Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; falling 1.07% or 0.006 to 0.554.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.99% or 0.49 to $50.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.25% or 0.61 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1245.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1361, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.7862.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 93.97.
